Hi, I'm not sure if I should make a gp appointment for this? I have a rash on the left leg too. I do normally get puffy legs and feet, but this feels different, much tighter and feeling odd. Thanks all x BARBARA

off to the GP with you!
I get tight swollen legs- have to keep them up a lot... There is a type of inflammation of the layers of skin...
You must get to the dr incase you have developed vasculitis.

Thanks Jenni, I knew I would get some sensible advice! I did leave a message on my rheumy nurses line, but they never seem to get back to me. I did call my gp for an appt, earliest is Tuesday at 10.10am I can get an emergency appt, you have to call after 10am or after 4pm, of course you can never get through at these times, I tried today and the message came on the line that the surgery was closed! even though it was obviously open. Anyway, so the earliest now is Monday for the emergency one. Hope this will keep until then x BARBARA

Hi Barbara I get this too! It's generally when I've been on my feet way too long and it's a wake up call to rest! For me it's excess fluid build up ie not sitting with my feet up often enough! I have some water tablets that I take very occasionally and that helps when they get really bad. I don't take them often though because of the effect on the kidneys ... have enough issues with what I really have to take without additional things! Vasculitis, had that too (brought on by high dose steroid use amongst other things!!). It was mainly in my hands where the skin had thinned due to the steroids. Had antibiotics and cream to fix. It can be very painful. Worth getting it checked though! Good luck, Lyn x

Thanks Lyn, will get it checked out as soon as I can. Whichever of the two it is, it needs sorting!! not very attractive, the thing is I have been resting more than ever due to the fracture and the fact my sister is helping me. Oh well, perhaps its trying to tell me something!!BARBARA

It will be fun - we usually laugh from arriving to going home! Don't forget to put up a message so that I know how many to book lunch for. xxxxxxxxxxx
